The Blood Connection is looking for more donors as the Lowcountry enters hurricane season.
A majority of the blood donors in South Carolina are over the age of 65, possibly because people in that age group deal with chronic diseases and ailments and know how important blood is to a community’s health care system, advocates say.
Through May 27, breweries across Asheville will be hosting blood drives in partnership with The Blood Connection. It is the first brewery battle of its kind, with a dozen participating businesses.
