COVID-19 Antibody Testing

for All Blood Donors!

The Blood Connection is providing COVID-19 antibody testing to all blood donors starting August 18th for a limited time. The testing will be done automatically after each blood donation.

Donating and the

COVID-19 Vaccine

The Blood Connection is following the FDA’s recommendations on the eligibility of donors who have had the COVID-19 vaccine. Most donors can still give if they’ve had the vaccine. See our COVID-19 page for more information on guidelines.

Emma Janna

“In 2010, My mother and I got involved in a serious car accident that put us both in the hospital. After the accident, I had severe head trauma and I lost a lot of blood. If people had not donated blood, I wouldn’t have finished high school, been to college, met my husband, or had my son. I could never thank my donors enough.

I love The Blood Connection because of places like The Blood Connection, my son and I are alive today.”

Kenneth Greene

“It is extremely important for me to give blood. In 2012, my dad, an Army veteran, was diagnosed with a blood disorder. Between the blood transfusions and the good Lord above, I was able to get a 3-month goodbye. My dad was the one that convinced me to start donating blood.

I love The Blood Connection because it helps me do what other people did to help my family.”

Shontrell Vereen

“I was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia when I was a child. I need 8 people to donate every three weeks for me to live my life. If people stop donating blood, then people like me wouldn’t be able to live normally. I can now play with my kids outside and be more present in their lives.

I love The Blood Connection because it helps me live a better life.”

Temoor Dard

“Since I was 14 years old, I have coordinated blood drives to combat the blood shortage. My grandfather suffered a heart attack and blood transfusions saved his life. The Blood Connection has allowed me to make a difference and helped me save over 1,200 lives in my community.

I love The Blood Connection because together we can make a difference in our local community.”
