STOP! Have you have tried to donate blood with TBC before?

If you have tried to donate with TBC before and were deferred, you will need to be “reinstated”. Please fill out the form below to start the reinstatement process. You cannot donate blood until we have finished this process in our system. A TBC team member will contact you!

A confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided. Please refer to that email for more information.

Commonly Asked Questions
Why is the FDA changing the guidance?

After years of analysis, no documented cases of vCJD arose from a blood transfusion. Despite the perceived risk, science continues to show that the transmission risk of vCJD by blood components remains only theoretical.

What is vCJD (mad cow disease)?

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) implemented regulations to protect the blood supply against the risk of mad cow disease, variant Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease (vCJD) in human form, a fatal infection of the brain and nerve tissue.

What if I was deferred from another blood center?

You do not need to be reinstated – you can donate immediately with TBC!

What if I traveled/lived to those places in that timeframe but never tried to donate?

If you self-deferred and never donated with TBC, you can make an appointment to donate immediately! Click the button above.

If I've tried to donate before, can I donate at a TBC donor center or mobile before contacting TBC for reinstatement?

No, a donor must first be reinstated in our database, only if they have tried to donate before and have been deferred by TBC.
