As COVID-19 case numbers and hospitalizations continue to rise, the demand for convalescent plasma, a well-known treatment for those battling the virus, has skyrocketed.

Less than a week from Christmas, people from across the mountains visited local hospitals to give a different sort of gift.

The Swamp Rabbits Hockey team is holding their home opening weekend complete with a night to honor local first responders and heros, a blood drive Saturday and new safety regulations.

Hubbell Lighting, in partnership with The Blood Connection, is inviting the public and local businesses to participate in a blood and convalescent plasma donation drive on Friday, Dec. 4. The event will take place at Hubbell’s 701 Millennium Blvd. campus.
