Concerns surrounding COVID-19 (coronavirus) are negatively impacting the local blood supply, prompting calls for more donations.

 COVID-19 (coronavirus) is negatively impacting blood donations. The situation in the Upstate is similar to the situation around the country, a trend that could lead to blood shortages and could negatively affect hospitals. 

Steve Harrell is traveling the country with one mission: to donate blood in every state. The Blood Connection helped Steve cross two states off his list. 

Paramedics at Prisma Health-Upstate now say new technology will make providing critical blood transfusions to trauma patients in the field possible. As Prisma’s blood provider, The Blood Connection is a part of this new lifesaving trend too.

The Blood Connection opened a temporary donation center inside the Greenville, North Carolina Mall for the holiday season.
