The Blood Connection provides an extensive library of blood donors that have additional blood typing in the Rh/hr, Kell, Kidd, Duffy, and MNS bloodgroup systems. A reference of such recently donated blood units is maintained at The Blood Connection’s main facility in Peidmont, South Carolina. A database of the rare types serves to locate additional donors when the need arises for rare blood transfusions.

Patients receiving organ transplants, cancer therapies, and support for sickle cell anemia all depend on life-saving transfusions. Blood is critical to the survival of premature babies and patients undergoing heart or joint replacement surgery. It also plays a life-saving role in serious accidents, civil and military conflicts, and widespread tragedies like earthquakes and hurricanes.
Keep an eye out for our new billboards coming soon to Greenville. They are designed to direct our donors to the new blood center at 435 Woodruff Road, as well as, support the need to DONATE BLOOD. IT’S A GREAT WAY TO WRAP UP YOUR DAY!
