J. Brian Madden, MBA, MT (ASCP)

A native of Greenville South Carolina, Brian Madden holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Erskine College, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from the Medical University of South Carolina.  He is ASCP Certified in Medical Technology.  In January of 2012 Madden earned his MBA from Western Governors University with an emphasis in Management and Strategy.

Madden has more than 22 years experience in Blood Banking.  He began as a phlebotomist and progressed within the organization to hold key positions, such as Director of Hospital Services, Executive Director of Biologics and Technical Services, and ultimately Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer.

He is charged with overseeing the daily operations of The Blood Connection, assuring that organizational and blood product collection goals are met in order to maintain an adequate, safe and cost-effective blood supply for the community. Additionally, Madden provides leadership, administrative guidance, and direction to all facets of the organization.
