Robert Rainer completed his undergraduate work at University of South Carolina and received his medical degree from Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. In addition to his internship and residency, both in Combined Anatomic and Clinic Pathology at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, New Hampshire, Rainer completed a Masters in Business Administration from University of Maryland, a Sigma Six Black Belt Certification from Villanova, and a Clinical Fellow in Hematopathology from University of Florida.

Rainer is directly responsible for assuring that the medical, technical, and scientific activities of The Blood Connection comply with all applicable regulations and standards. He will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and reviewing all standard operating procedures. He will also serve as CLIA Medical Director and/or Technical Supervisor and perform the duties required by CLIA regulations.
